Wood mesmerizes me. The color, the smell, the grain, the whimsical characteristics that tell stories of hardships and victories.. I could go on and on. Some people see a piece of wood, I see an adventure! ~ H. George
The name WhittleSpooons was derived from the love of carving and whittling spoons by hand. Whether I am beachfront or enjoying a mountain stream, my "book" is a block of wood and a knife. It's a joy that goes with me when I cannot have shop tools in my hand.
For as long as I can remember, woodworking has been a part of my life. I was very fortunate to have a supportive and talented line of woodworkers that passed some of those genes down to me! I take pride in creating and using several years of drafting and CAD experience to make my own plans based on your specs. I'm fascinated by using only my hands and tools to create one of a kind pieces of art and furniture to become a part of your home.
Each piece is designed to fit the space and according to your requests. I start with a consultation to find out what you're looking for. Then, I will send you design sketches, and we'll work together to finalize a design you love. Finally, I get to building!
I create pieces you can enjoy for years to come. If you ever encounter a design flaw or craftsmanship issue, I will fix or replace the piece. Wood has a mind of its own and no skilled woodworker can ever 100% guarantee that boards will not swell, warp or move. Therefore, I cannot guarantee that tiny cracks or gaps will not naturally occur in your piece as the climate in your home fluctuates.
I'm also always available to help you you maintain the look of your wood.
